At about 4 a.m. on Tuesday, deputies received a call from a resident in the 1000 block of Arcadia Drive that there was a suspicious man in the area. The caller said his dog woke him up before the man knocked on the front door asking if “Herbert” was home. The caller told the man that no one by that name lived there and the man walked away.
A deputy later found Jeffrey Michael Beck walking along Garden Valley Road. After checking his records, he arrested Beck on an outstanding warrant for a parole violation. While trying to take him into custody, the deputy said Beck tried to punch him, so he used a taser to subdue him.
The deputy also found a laptop in Beck’s backpack that belonged to the resident on Arcadia Drive. Investigators say Beck entered the home through an unlocked garage door.
Beck is being held at the Douglas County Jail for first degree burglary, second degree theft, resisting arrest and parole violation charges.
