Run to Benefit Habitat for Humanity

CORVALLIS, Ore. — Runners are gearing up for a half marathon in Corvallis this weekend to support a local nonprofit.

The Benton Habitat for Humanity is hosting several runs at Crescent Valley High School on Sunday, and there are still spots open. There will also be a 10 k run/walk, 5k run/walk, and a fun run. All proceeds go to the Habitat for Humanity in Corvallis, a nonprofit that helps house struggling families who can’t find affordable housing.

“The need for affordable housing is very strong, especially in the Corvallis area,” said Benton Habitat for Humanity Executive Director Karen Rockwell. “With the student population here, unfortunately they have taken away from where a lot of other neighborhoods and communities would have had as affordable single family housing.”

The cost ranges from $10-45 depending on the race. The half marathon starts at 8 am ($45), the 10k starts at 8:15 ($35), the 5k starts at 8:30 ($25), and the fun run starts at 10:30 ($10).

Participants can register online by clicking here or at Crescent Valley at 7 am before the races start.
