Salon Raises Money for Hurricane Victims

EUGENE, Ore. — A local salon is joining a national movement to help fund relief efforts for victims of Hurricane Sandy.

Face it! Salon on 5th Street will be taking part in a cut-a-thon called Scissors for Sandy on Dec. 10. Salons and stylists all over the country will volunteer their time for a minimum donation of $30.

“I think it affects us all. I know two people who lost everything and even on a small scale it affected my business, where I had some things that weren’t able to come in,” said Katrina Soentpiet, Face It! Salon on 5th St.

All the proceeds will go to Hometown Heroes Restore the Shore initiative in New Jersey and the Tunnel to Towers Foundation in New York City.
