Salon Rallies to Help Cancer Patient

EUGENE, Ore. — A Eugene salon is rallying around one of its co-workers who has stage 4 cancer.

A year ago, Lindsay Moseman was diagnosed with colon cancer. She went through a year of chemo-therapy. She thought she had beat the disease, but sadly it’s come back and spread.

Moseman is a mother of two young boys. She works at Chikara Salon and Spa. Her friends and co-workers decided to put together two fundraisers to help her out.

The first event will be held on Sunday, Oct. 13. All service proceeds from that day will go to the family.

The other–an event on Oct. 21–is basically a hair and makeup party and the theme is masquerade.

Moseman’s friends say cancer treatment for a year really add up and they just want to relieve some of that financial burden. They say it’s really hard seeing their friend suffer.

“Each of us have had a time or somebody that we have known that this has touched, and it’s often hard to know how you can help, and this is our way of trying to help,” said Michaelle Courtney, Chikara Salon and Spa owner.

Moseman is still going through treatment, and her friends say she’s hopeful she can still beat this.
