PLEASANT HILL, Ore. — The storm forced multiple Lane County School Districts to use snow routes–some even closed for the day.
Blachly, Marcola, Oakridge and Pleasant Hill school districts decided to cancel school completely Tuesday since conditions just kept getting worse all day.
Pleasant Hill started with just snow routes, then moved to delays, then to a total cancellation.
“We started having more snowfall that landed on Highway 58 and started sticking, so we started moving from snow routes to a two-hour delay, and then it just kept coming,” said Tony Scurto, Pleasant Hill Superintendent.
Pleasant Hill, like most districts, has snow days built into its schedule.
Administrators say students will make up Tuesday in June.
