The boy went missing sometime around 6 p.m. near the Cuthbert Amphitheater.
The Eugene Police Department put out the call around 8:15 p.m., asking for help looking to look for the 9-year-old. They say he may have gotten mad at his family and then run away.
Search and rescue crews combed the park, including the Violent Crimes Unit, looking for any clue of the boy. Flashlights danced through the park as they shouted his name.
Around 10 p.m., police were finally able to find him.
“While the child’s mother was being interviewed by detectives, the child called his mother from a location up River Road. Our officers responded and located the child at the address,” said EPD Sgt. David Natt.
Eugene police also wanted to thank all of those who came out to the park to help in the search.
