Chief Meteorologist Justin Stapleton‘s Daily Forecast Discussion:
Finally starting to see some sunshine in our late afternoon sky. In fact, skies will continue to clear heading into overnight, so expect to see some stars early, then the valley will fill back in with dense fog before dawn. Lows tonight will fall into the low 30s, with some outlying areas in the valley possibly dipping briefly below freezing early Sat.
Saturday should be a dry and sunny day after the fog mixes out in the afternoon. Both the mountains and coastline will be sunny pretty much all day. Highs will be a bit warmer in the mid to upper 50s at the coast and Umpqua, however, the fog will likely hold in the Eugene/Springfield area, so folks here might not get out of the mid 40s. Folks that haven’t had a chance to hit the slopes should have a spectacular weekend with plenty of sunshine and from last week’s storms, plenty of powder! Here’s tonight’s ski report:
Sunday starts off sunny (just a little fog in the valley) but the clouds will be back later in the day with a storm cutting through the ridge, and showers late in the evening. Next week, Monday carries showers chances pretty much all day with a system that cuts right under the ridge heading into the coastline, otherwise, dry Tuesday and then its back to the showers midweek. Highs will be milder though in the mid 50s for the valleys, pushing 60s in the Umpqua.
Have a great weekend!
