Senate to Vote on ATV Bill

SALEM, Ore. — The Oregon Senate will vote this week about whether kids 7 and younger should be able to ride ATVs on public lands.

That vote was supposed to happen Monday but got postponed.

At this time, children between the ages of 7 and 15 can ride ATVs if they’re with an adult. But Senate Bill 238 would let younger kids hop on, only if they’re able to reach the brake and grip.

“Okay, with all the right supervision and safety requirements matched. And with a safe vehicle it should be okay,” said Chris Miller, CC Cycle & ATV Service Owner.

The Senate will vote on the bill Wednesday.
