Senior Dinner Donations Needed

EUGENE, Ore. — Organizers need your help putting on the annual Senior Dinner in Eugene on Christmas Day.

The dinner is put on by Lane County for anyone over the age of 62. But this year, they’re about $3,000 short on donations.

Organizers say this dinner is for anyone who doesn’t have a place to go on the holidays.

“Our goal is always 500 to 600 seniors and we usually average between 550 to 600 seniors come each year, so it’s a really full ballroom of wonderful human beings that we just love and really want to support this holiday season,” said Sydney Shook, Senior Dinner Organizer.

If you want to attend the dinner, tickets are $7.50. They’re on sale through Dec. 18 at Campbell Senior Center and Willamalane Adult Activity Center.

Monetary donations may be mailed to Lane County Human Services Commission at 125 E. 8th Avenue, Eugene, OR 97401. (Please note Senior Holiday Dinner with donation.) They’re also looking for door prize gift donations, including gift certificates or merchandise. Organizers are also looking for volunteers to help the day of the event. Call Lane County Human Services Commission for more information at (541) 682-3798.
