Meteorologist Melissa Frey’s Forecast Discussion:
We have 13 days left in the summer season and at least the next 6 days will look very much like summer! We’ve hit 90° or above 18 times this year, when the average is just 15. This week we may add another 3 days over 90°.
A large ridge of high pressure is setting up shop over western Oregon. This means clear skies and off shore flow. Highs Monday should make it to the upper 80s, then it’s low 90s for Tuesday – Wednesday. Temps will slowly drop at the end of the week, and we’ll be back to the normal upper 70s/low 80s by Sunday.
The Coast will also get a break from the clouds and cool temps. Aside from some morning fog, it’ll be mostly sunny at the coast with highs in the 70s. The Umpqua Basin will see low 90s starting today, mid 90s Tuesday and Wednesday and low 90s again on Thursday.
Even the Cascades will be warmer than usual. Highs near Willamette Pass will be in the mid 70s today and low 80s for Tuesday and Wednesday.
Stay cool and have a great Monday!
