METEOROLOGIST MELISSA FREY’S FORECAST DISCUSSION:
There are only seven full days of summer left and everyone should look a lot more like summer than fall. Slightly cooler air will move in for the weekend as our winds have shifted from the northeast to the northwest.
Although we no longer have the thermal trough kicking in the heat, the jet stream is still well to our north, and with no storms in sight temperatures will likely climb back up into the mid 80s for all inland locations Friday. Sunny skies will also stick around.
By Saturday the marine layer should be well developed along the Coast and we’ll start the day with that marine air pushing into the valley. Any cloud cover will be brief though and highs will only drop to the low 80s for both Saturday and Sunday.
The weekend “cool down” will be short lived as high pressure returns early next week. Highs are on track to be back in the mid 80s Monday through Thursday.
Have a great weekend!
