Sewer Project Causes Road Closures

EUGENE, Ore. — Work is under way on a project to upgrade the wastewater system in west Eugene, so drivers should expect traffic delays.

Barger Drive is closed between Terry Street to West Irwin Way. Crews are building a new 750-foot long sewer line there.

The new line will provide an emergency bypass for wastewater flows in case the West Irwin pump station is not working. It will also reroute wastewater outflows to the Terry Street pump station.

Barger Drive will be closed for up to two weeks.
