EUGENE, Ore. — It was all glitz and glamour at the Fourth Annual “Shall We Dance” event Friday Night.
Local celebrities, business owners and community members hit the dance floor, all to raise money for the Angel Hair Foundation. The local non-profit provides hair systems to children who are affected by hair loss and this event allows them to help Oregon children all year long.
“Hair systems cost about fifteen hundred dollars, so they are kind of spendy, but it’s very important to the kids…To see the community come out in these numbers to support kids in the state of Oregon is just amazing.” said Debbie Wright, Founder of the Angel Hair Foundation
Shall We Dance is a local version of Dancing With The Stars where four celebrities perform two ballroom dance routines with a professional dancer. This year’s celebrity dancers included: Krista Hughes, Niloo Marashi, Cameron Martin and Mark Musgrove.
With everything from classical to hip hop, these dancers danced their hearts out to impress the crowd and the judges.
The winner is determined by a combination of the judges scores and votes from the audience. Each couple had their moments, but it was Mark Musgrove who took home the trophy with his ballroom version of Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’.
The money raised at this event will allow the Angel Hair Foundation to provide hair systems to an estimated 35 children this year. They’ve provided hair systems to over 170 children since the foundation was formed in 2007.
