Justin’s Friday Night Forecast Discussion:
Overnight tonight, expect clear skies and another nice, mild start for the inland valleys in the low to mid 50s. The coast will stay cloudy late tonight and likely for most of the day again tomorrow.
Widespread mid to upper 90s today as high pressure aloft is keeping the jet stream well north of Oregon which allows for the warmer air to stay put. Although we’ll start to see a change this weekend which will drop highs back some twenty degrees by Sunday and Monday!
Morning clouds will be back by the weekend as the ridge breaks down slowly and the jetstream returns to a more westerly push. The good news is while the morning clouds will be back, Saturday’s Duck and Beaver home games will be pleasant in the low to mid 80s and plenty of sunshine.
By Sunday, a strong trough of low pressure pushes the jet stream back down into the Northwest. That’ll bring in the cooler Pacific air and slice afternoon highs back into the mid 70s for a refreshing end to the weekend. The cool air will stick around through early week, in fact, Monday will almost feel very fall-like with highs only reaching the low 70s! It’ll be short-lived as high pressure rebuilds and we’ll return to the 80s by midweek.
Atlantic Hurricane Update:
Tropics remain active with two hurricanes: LESLIE and MICHAEL. Both are situated well offshore in the Central Atlantic and forecast to re-curve back into the Northern Atlantic by the weekend. Details on both storms are here: National Hurricane Center
Have a great weekend!
