EUGENE, Ore– After being closed all summer, the Sheldon Pool is set to reopen Monday morning.
The City of Eugene shut the pool down in June for major repairs after it was discovered to be leaking as much as 8,000 gallons of water a day.
The pool itself hasn’t changed, but it now sports a new, state-of-the-art water supply system.
To celebrate, Sheldon Pool is offering a free swim lesson assessment Monday night from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and free recreational swim from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Plus, Monday morning from 9 a.m. to noon is the grand re-opening with prizes and giveaways.
The $730,000 improvement project was paid for by the city’s capital project funding.
