Administrators with the nonprofit says the location on West 4th Avenue in downtown Eugene is perfect because it’s at the center of the 11 other facilities in the area.
ShelterCare has been trying to raise money for renovations since buying the building in 2011, and it’s received grants from several organizations, businesses and individuals.
“The fact that people have responded so generously, so quickly, has just been astounding and we are very, very excited,” said Susan Ban, Executive Director.
Plans include a new kitchen, work spaces and much more. Construction should be finished up by the end of summer or early fall.
