Sheriff’s Office Holding Job Open House

3-3 sheriff's office scamEUGENE, Ore. — The Lane County Sheriff’s Office is looking to hire new deputies, and it is holding an open house August 12.

The sheriff’s office will post at least 10 new jobs on its website Saturday.

Sgt. Carrie Carver says anyone older than 21 who graduated from high school can apply, and you don’t need law enforcement experience.

“It’s a lengthy process. There are a lot of steps, and I understand that people might have some apprehension and might have some questions, so we sort of wanted to open it up for people to come in to ask those questions,” Carver said.

They’re also hiring volunteer reserve deputies.

The open house is happening from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Harris Hall on the corner of Eighth Avenue and Oak Street.
