Sheriff’s Office Looks for New Deputies

EUGENE, Ore. — The Lane County Sheriff’s Office says it is looking for new recruits.

On Thursday, Jan. 9, the sheriff’s office will conduct an open house for all prospective deputies. The informal orientation session will take place from 5:30-7 p.m. at Harris Hall in the Lane County Public Service Building.

Representatives from the sheriff’s office will be on hand to answer any questions on careers in law enforcement, as well as common errors made in the application process.

Applications will be accepted starting Jan. 14. After the new positions are filled, the Lane County sheriff’s force will be up to 38 deputies.
