What is going. On Oregon ? A 7 and 11 yr old try to steal a woman’s car and now a shooting at a Mall with a No Gun policy. Even the mall security are unarmed.

    1. Ted says:

I figured the NO GUN policies would keep criminals from using guns. Who would think a criminal would break the NO GUN rule?

  3. David Nelson says:

So how did that Gun Free Zone work.

    1. David Nelson says:

Really do not think it was an Automatic Weapon. Ever Priced one of those and do not tell me they can be bought on any street corner. Cause I want you to take me to that corner. I want one.

  4. Baldr Odinson says:

Yet another mass shooting using a semi-auto assault rifle. When will we stop letting people buy and own these weapons of mass destruction? Even with a 100-shot drum, it is completely legal, yet unnecessary outside of the military for self-defense or hunting.

    1. Johovah says:

Couple issues here hoss. 3 people dead including the gunman. That’s a real big stretch to call that a “mass shooting” there. There is no such thing as a “semi-auto assault rifle” nor has there even been. The term assault rifle applied to a weapon means that the weapon has fully automatic capabilities, making it a machine gun according to the BATFE. Meaning for one pull of the trigger the weapon will fire until either the trigger is released or the magazine (not CLIP!) is depleted. Semi-automatic weapons fire 1(ONE) bullet per 1(ONE) trigger pull. About 100 shot drums, if a criminal wanted to go for a volume of kills, magazine capacity WILL NOT effect how they do it. I can guarantee the gunman DID NOT have and assault rifle. The reason why any news outlet describes most firearms “assault weapons” is for sensationalism to rile up the anti-gun people.

I feel as though it’s in bad taste to use the victims of this crime as martyrs for a political philosophy such as gun control, especially when those who would decry guns are very ignorant to the nature, terminology, and true purpose of firearms. Most people have learned their gun knowledge through Call of Duty and Hollywood movies, the poorest of mediums. If you don’t like something educate yourself about it BEFORE you try to do something against it, because you will soon realize gun violence makes up a small fraction of deaths compared to deaths by car wrecks, smoking, and obesity, and other preventable things.
