Shooting Hospitalizes One Man

NIELSENEUGENE, Ore. — One man is in the hospital after he was shot in West Eugene early Saturday morning.

Police were called to the shooting on the 4100 block of Fergus Avenue around 4:45 a.m. Saturday.  Investigators say the victim was shot during a dispute at a party.

Police arrested the suspect, 22-year-old Brandon Elias Nielson of Eugene, accused of shooting the victim once.

Investigators say he was taken by a friend to RiverBend Hospital with non life-threatening injuries and they are still investigating.

“It was a dispute about a girl between a couple of males and beyond that, we’re still investigating exactly what happened,” says Sergeant Ron Tinseth with Eugene Police.

Anyone who witnessed the dispute is asked to call Eugene Police.
