REEDSPORT, Ore. — A standoff at a motel is over and police found a man dead inside one of the rooms.
Oregon State Police SWAT team say when they tried to contact a man inside one of the rooms at the Fir Grove Motel, he fired a shot. No officers were injured. They say the man was sought for questioning regarding a police investigation.
Earlier Wednesday afternoon, police secured the area around the motel , which is located on Winchester Avenue.
A nearby school was put in lockdown. ODOT closed Highway 101 for several hours at milepost 212 (the intersection with Umpqua Highway ORE38). It was reopened around 5:30 p.m.

We saw three sheriff cars at different times go past our house.
