SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — A new local art exhibit is shedding light on some unique artists. The Best of Autism Artism show will be displayed at the Willamalane Adult Activity Center this year.

Organizers say work was drawn from more than ten years of shows by artists with Autism and the pieces aren’t just from the surrounding area. Folks will also see work from as far as Norway. Coordinators say it’s a chance for the community to see that while Autism may be a disability, it’s not necessarily debilitating.

KindTree – Autism Rocks Secretary Tim Mueller says, ” Our point here is to highlight the strengths these people have and to give them the opportunity to communicate with you in ways that they might not otherwise be able to.”

Every item is available for purchase. All the work will be on display until Mar. 27. A special reception will be held on Feb. 14.
