Chief Meteorologist Justin Stapleton‘s Daily Forecast Discussion:
Rain is picking up tonight for a few hours as the cold front moves through. Steady rain will slowly taper off to scattered showers as we head into early Friday morning. Overnight, lows will fall into the mid 40s or so, as of right now, we’re looking at a bit of a soggy commute for the morning.
Showers on and off all day Friday as well. Cool with highs only reaching around 60. I am expecting to see some sun breaks which will aid in stirring up the atmosphere, with the cold air overhead, I’d not be surprised to see a few isolated thunderstorms crop up as well. Snow showers will mix down to around 5000 feet with a light accumulation of maybe an inch or two at Pass level. The good news is Mother’s Day is looking cloudy at first but dry and some decent sunshine for mom in the afternoon.
Real solid looking warm up is in store for next week, nice ridge of high pressure will push highs back into the upper 70s and yes, even the 80s again by midweek. Don’t put away the summer gear, or at least have it on stand by!
Have a great Thursday night!
