Meteorologist Marisa Woloszyn’s Forecast Discussion:
A Flood Warning continues for the Coquille River at Coquille; the river will remain above flood stage until Friday evening.
A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for the western slopes of the Cascades; an additional 6-12″ of snow is expected above 2000 ft. Communities around 1,000 ft can expect 2-4″ of snowfall. Scattered rain showers will continue for the rest of the area through Wednesday night.
Isolated showers will continue Thursday as the system that brought wet weather for Christmas moves off to the east. Another storm will graze the the coast Friday, bringing scattered showers to coastal communities and a stray shower inland. By the weekend we’ll be in a split flow pattern, meaning no major storms systems headed our way. Dry weather will start Saturday for the entire area and remain dry through the first part of next week. The only trade-off, high temperatures will be in the low 40s and lows will be near freezing.
Have a Wonderful Wednesday!
