SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — The city of Springfield will be unveiling the highly anticipated Simpson’s mural Monday afternoon, but already crowds are starting to gather to get a sneak peek while the artists put the finishing touches on the project.
Monday afternoon, the city of Springfield will have a block party to unveil the mural. The city expects the painting will be complete by Sunday night, on the mural that highlights not only the Simpsons, but Springfield itself.
With a view of the Three Sisters, hills, and an old Springfield sign, many residents said this mural perfectly portrays the town that’s been rumored to be the home of the Simpsons for years.
“It’s gonna mix really well with the culture that Springfield is progressing into,” said Pauline Kaldahl.
“It’s beautiful. The colors, the colors are really beautiful and I like associating the little odds and ends here that are part of Springfield,” said Becky Holmes.
Yeardley Smith, who plays the voice of Lisa Simpson will be at the unveiling on Monday.
The celebration starts at 11:30 a.m. and the official unveiling of the mural will take place at noon.
