Sketch of Attempted Kidnapper Released

EUGENE, Ore. — Eugene Police released a sketch of a man who allegedly tried to kidnap a toddler in early May.

Police say on May 7 the suspect broke into a home in a neighborhood off River Road and tried to take the girl.

The toddler’s mother was in the kitchen when she heard the door open and her daughter scream, which is when she ran to the door.

The mother told police she saw a man reaching through the open front door and grabbing the girl. She then pulled the child away, shut and locked the door and the man ran off.

Police are still looking for the suspect, who is described as a thin, white man, in his 20s around 6’2″ tall. The mother says he was wearing a baseball hat, jean shorts and a dark shirt.

If you have any information about the case, call Eugene police.
