EUGENE, Ore. — It hardly feels like winter outside, but perhaps this will help. It’s time for the 44th annual Eugene Ski Swap.
On Thursday, ski and snowboard enthusiasts will begin dropping off goods at the Lane County Fairgrounds. The swap itself is Friday through Sunday.
It’s a great way for families to score bargains on used equipment consigned by everyday folks, plus new equipment from area shops.
“Ski swap is in anticipation of winter. Leaves are falling. It’s getting cold. We have the ski swap. We’re all getting ready to go skiing, and that is just fabulous,” said Buz Mattson, Ski Swap Coordinator.
The bulk of the money raised goes to the Willamette Pass Ski Patrol to help with training, first aid, medical supplies and equipment.
Doors open Friday at 6 p.m. Tickets are $1 and can be bought in advance beginning at 12 p.m.
