WILLAMETTE PASS — The warmer weather is behind us and mother nature made that clear with a nice blanket of snow on Willamette Pass Saturday night.
Several inches have fallen this weekend and there’s still more forecasted to come.
Even though the ski season hasn’t started yet, the Willamette Pass Ski Area was busy today. Volunteer patrols were training and preparing for when the public starts hitting the slopes.
Resort owner, Tim Wiper, says snowfall like this gets skiers and workers excited.
“We live for this. This is our job. This is what we do. We come up from Eugene every day and we just can’t be more pleased when it’s snowing in the mountains,” said Wiper.
He says they’re hoping they can get the ski season up and running sometime around Thanksgiving.
