Skydivers Gain Rights to Land at Airport

Urban Moore opened Eugene Skydivers in 1992 at the Creswell Airport and they’d been landing in a patch of land there for years.

But in 2006 airport management and the city had concerns over safety so they pulled the rights to the land.

But that all changed Wednesday when both sides reached a settlement.

“I’m kind of relieved, there’s some pressure off me. But as far as — we have a lot of work ahead of us to do to get back it’s going to take us another or three years, it’s like starting over again,” said Moore.

Moore says while the settlement is a step in the right direction, the business took a hit during the time they weren’t allowed to land at the airport.
