EUGENE, Ore. — Homeless advocacy group SLEEPS is back protesting in Free Speech Plaza.
The group has been evicted from that location twice already, but activists keep coming back. On Monday they set their tents back up again.
The plaza is closed from 11 p.m. until 6 a.m., so protesters say they will be interested to see what happens tonight at 11 because they don’t plan on leaving.
“It’s symbolic. It’s Free Speech Plaza, so you know we are following our First Amendment right to be able to protest here,” said SLEEPS activist Conrad Barney.
SLEEPS wants the camping ban lifted.

quit wasting city resources.
What a stinkin joke.
You want respect and attention but you are going about it all the wrong way.
I have no sympathy for you whatsoever.
You waste the resources you demand be given to you for free, meanwhile we all go to work everyday, like you are suppose to do.
NO FREE LUNCH!
