METEOROLOGIST MARISA WOLOSZYN’S FORECAST DISCUSSION:
A weak low pressure system will slide along the coast Tuesday into Wednesday. This low will pull in some moisture into the mid levels of the atmosphere. The moisture, plus heat at the surface and orographic lift by the mountains could cause some thunderstorms to pop, especially Tuesday evening.
Summer weather continues this week as high pressure remains in control. High temperatures will remain in the upper 60s along the coast, near 90 in the Willamette Valley and mountain foothills, and low 90s in the Umpqua Basin.
Some relief from the heat will come early in the morning with low temperatures around 6 a.m. in the 50s. So at least windows can be opened up to let to cool air overnight.
Have a wonderful week!
