CHIEF METEOROLOGIST JUSTIN STAPLETON’S FORECAST DISCUSSION:
Chilly again tonight with some good breaks in the clouds. That’ll get temps back down into the low 30s for another frosty start in spots for Friday morning. Expect a few inches of snow overnight around the Santiam Pass but icy conditions at both Passes through most of the day tomorrow. By the afternoon, most of the isolated showers should have wrapped up or pushed up into the mountains and we’ll see more widespread sun breaks. Don’t expect much change in the temperature though- Highs will still be quite cool for this time of year, only pushing to the upper 40s to near 50.
Going into the weekend, it quiets down a bit with a ripple of high pressure giving some dry time for both Saturday and Sunday. Highs will slowly start to moderate, back into the mid and upper 50s. Saturday will start foggy but finish mostly sunny along with Sunday. Another weak system appears to move close to the coast Saturday but falls apart before it can make it onshore. Dry weather looks to continue for the most part into early next week, with rain chances increasing by Wednesday.
Have a great Friday!
Chief Meteorologist Justin Stapleton
