CORVALLIS, Ore. — The snow can make it tricky to get around, but the white dusting can provide extra clues for detectives to help track people down.

Deputies with the Benton County Sheriff’s Office arrested 37-year-old Jacob Elliott on Thursday. They say they were dispatched to a report of a stolen vehicle on West Hills Road.

When they arrived, deputies say the man resisted arrest and ran into an old tree farm. They say they found him after following his footprints, and they found a second stolen vehicle in the tree farm.

Elliot is facing several charges, including two counts of the unauthorized use of a vehicle.
