Chief Meteorologist Justin Stapleton‘s Daily Forecast Discussion:
Muggy and soggy tonight even though most of the showers have left the building, the airmass remains humid overnight as we await the next front approaching for Friday morning. Overnight, overcast with occasional breaks and still very muggy and mild with lows falling into the upper 50s.
Friday’s showers are looking more intense and widespread in the morning hours as the front moves through, however, there’s enough leftover moisture and with some sun breaks, we’ll kick off a few isolated pop-up showers in the afternoon. Highs tomorrow again will be cool in the upper 60s and low 70s.
The weekend starts showery but will finish with sunshine as we’ll split the forecast for the two days. Saturday some isolated morning showers as the leftovers from Friday’s front still linger and likely staying cloudy until late afternoon. However, the morning clouds will break up for a nice sunny finish to Sunday and highs will push back up into the mid 70s.
Summer heat (so to speak) is back for much of the first of July, high pressure aloft and a drying offshore wind are expected Monday through Wednesday. Highs will be pushing back into the mid 80s by Tuesday and possibly low 90s for the Umpqua!
Have a great Thursday night!
