METEOROLOGIST MELISSA FREY’S FORECAST DISCUSSION:
Today’s the last day with the jet stream directly over western Oregon, bringing in the chilly air and isolated showers. High temperatures will stay near 50 degrees in the valley and the snow level will hold at about 1,500′ all day. The passes and ski resorts will see another 1-3″ of snow today and the higher foothills could pick up another inch.
All the ski resorts are open today and next week! It should be a perfect weekend for skiing…fresh power and sun!
The jet stream heads north this weekend which means we’ll all dry out Saturday. It’ll be a chilly start to the day though with lows falling to the low 30s overnight. Fog, frost and low clouds will stick with us for the first part of Saturday with sun breaks in the afternoon.
Sunday has better chances of seeing more sun and warmer temperatures. High pressure moves in Sunday and stays through Tuesday. This will keep us dry and help temperatures get back into the low 60s by Monday.
The next shot of rain isn’t until Wednesday of next week.
Have a great weekend!
