Springfield Approves Public Safety Levy

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — Springfield voters vote to extended the public safety levy.

The money raised from the measure, which is basically the extension of the levy passed in 2006, will help pay for police and jail services.

“We work hard to maintain a relationship with the community. We do our very best to provide the best law enforcement services possible and I hope that people understand that. We are proud of the community and we are proud of the work we do” said Jerry Smith, Springfield Police Chief.
