SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — Police arrested two men for attempting to break into a Springfield business.
Officers received an alarm from General Trailer on A Street just after 3 a.m. Monday.
When they arrived, they surrounded the building and searched for the suspects.
An officer and his police dog found Charles Dean Stevenson, of Springfield and chased him until he surrendered. A few minutes later, police arrested William Steven Traylor, a transient who was crawling away from them.
Officers found several piles of power cable near the business.
Stevenson and Traylor were arrested on burglary, attempted theft and criminal mischief charges.
