SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — A Springfield councilman faces DUII charges after being arrested Sunday morning.
Springfield Police says an officer saw a car leave Whiskey River Ranch just after 2:30 p.m. and head down Main Street, going slower than the speed limit.
When the car pulled into a gas station, the officer talked to the driver, Dave Ralston, and arrested him. Springfield police say–city councilor or not–drunk drivers will be prosecuted.
“This is a crime that affects us all. The amount of death and serious injury resulting from DUII nationwide is in the thousands. We’ve had a lot of local, very tragic cases due to this, and so we do very aggressively enforce DUII law,” said Sgt. John Umenhofer, Springfield Police Department.
KEZI 9 News reached out to Councilor Ralston for comment but haven’t heard back.

I would be curious to know what other crimes were happening that night? How many car break-ins?
Following someone out of a bar parking lot. Wow, talk about easy money. Well, we all know the name of the game is bringing in revenue.
