The city of Eugene started cleaning up the leaves a couple weeks ago.
This week Springfield residents should be ready to have their leaves ready for pickup too.
Put them in medium-sized garbage bags. Those will be picked up the Monday your neighborhood is scheduled. While it might seem like a simple task, the city says it’s an important one.
“Anytime we’re talking about public safety in the streets, getting the leaves off the street, especially when it gets slick, when it rains, it’s very important. We want to keep them out of the storm drains for water quality,” said Neil Laudati, City of Springfield Spokesman.
