SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — Springfield Superintendent of Public Schools Nancy Golden spent weeks planning a little prank.
Wednesday, she was to square off with Willamalane Superintendent Bob Keefer in a rock climbing challenge. But here’s what really happened. Just before Nancy was set to start the climb up the wall, she ran to the bathroom. Out of the bathroom ran an expert rock climber with a Nancy Golden disguise, mostly a wig.
Bob Keefer was concentrating so hard on the climb he didn’t notice until Nancy’s lookalike beat him to the top. When Keefer realized the joke was on him, he started laughing.
“Oh, she got me good,” said Bob Keefer.
“I’ve been telling him, ‘I am Spiderwoman’ and all these things all week long,” said Nancy Golden. And Keefer replied, “I hope we have a retirement party because there is going to be some payback.”
The master of disguise Brian Megert is the Director of Special Programs for the Springfield School District.
