ROSEBURG, Ore. — The man who started a standoff in Roseburg is behind bars, but not before he allegedly shot at police officers.
Police had to block the road outside the Casa Loma Motel as they worked for hours to get the suspect, 23-year-old Jonathan Lackey, a transient, out of a room.
When detectives tried to confront the man about a different investigation, they say he immediately started shooting.
The detective shot back, but no one was hurt.
Police did say Lackey was treated at the scene for a minor injury to his hand.
Lackey is being held at the Douglas County Jail on several charges, including Attempted Aggravated Murder, Attempted Assault I, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Menacing, Disorderly Conduct and Reckless Endangering.
