Police Standoff in Glenwood

GLENWOOD, Ore. – Lane County Sheriff’s deputies were forced to use less-than-lethal force this morning to break up a tense standoff.

Deputies responded to a 9-1-1 cal at 4:35 a.m. reporting a dispute on the 4500 block of Franklin in the Glenwood Area.

Initial investigations suggested that an attempted assault and a gun crime had occurred.

Deputies say after failed attempts at contacting several people in an apartment, they called for backup from armored military surplus vehicles.

They then deployed pepper rounds into the home. Deputies detained ten people one person was arrested. Citations were issued for alcohol offenses and outstanding warrants, but investigations into fire-arm, menacing and assault charges are on-going
