SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — The force is with some Springfield residents Friday afternoon.

A legion of storm troopers paid a visit to the Springfield Farmers Market.

Cloud City Garrison, a chapter of the 501st Legion of Stormtroopers, entertained everyone with their costumes.

The group is visiting different venues throughout the year.

Friday event was strictly a charity event.

All the money raised goes right to the Children’s Medical Network.

Members say they love doing this just to see people’s reactions.

“When people see us, it takes them back its a pop culture phenomenon so they get into it, and I love it too,” said Allan Quick, a member of Cloud City Garrison.

A cool side note: George Lucas, the director of the Star Wars movies, approved the 501st Legion of Stormtroopers since the money does go to charity.

If you missed the Star Wars villains Friday afternoon

You can catch them at the Eugene Emeralds game on Saturday, August 11 for Star Wars night.
