State Board Warns About Paving Scammers

pavementEUGENE, Ore. — Property owners in rural Lane County are being warned to watch out for paving scammers.

The Construction Contractors Board, the state agency that licenses contractors, says paving scammers may be at work in rural Lane County.

The CCB says a Marcola property owner was approached earlier this year with a offer to pave his driveway. It says an investigation in under way.

The board says property owners should be wary of people who come to their doorstep with “extra asphalt” they offer in a deal. It says legitimate contractors typically don’t solicit work door-to-door.

If anyone contacts you for paving you didn’t ask for, call the CCB at 503-378-4621.
