Stay-at-Home Moms on the Rise

mom(CNN) — The number of mother’s staying at home with the kids is on the rise.

But the change has more to do with money than a cultural shift, according to a new report by the Pew Research Center.

The study found that 29 percent of American mothers are at home.

The report found that many moms would like to work but can’t find jobs. Even if they find a job, the pay likely does not cover the cost of childcare.
