Chief Meteorologist Justin Stapleton‘s Daily Forecast Discussion:
Another great finish to the week that has been super sunny overall, with clear skies on the table for tonight. Temps will fall back into the 50s quickly after sunset, so a light jacket may be needed. Winds will move back in off the ocean again so Saturday morning will see light fog in the valleys. Most of it should be broken up as we head into the afternoon.
Saturday afternoon will be sunny and highs similar to the mid 60s that we just saw today. By Sunday, we’ll be pushing temperatures back into the low 70s in the valley, mid to upper 70s in the Umpqua as an upper-level ridge strengthens over the Pacific Northwest. There’s a good chance Sunday’s temps could reach or surpass the 76 we’ve seen so far this month.
Monday starts to see some changes as storms will slowly help break down the ridge, and bring back the clouds by late Monday. Expect isolated showers Tuesday and Wednesday. The real jarring effect will be the sharply cooler temps, highs back down into the maybe mid 50s by midweek! Stronger storms will bring more widespread rain by Thursday and Friday.
Have a great weekend!
