Near SHADY COVE, Ore. — The State Fire Marshall’s Office and local fire districts are working together to protect about 135 threatened structures in the evacuation zone of the Rogue River Drive Fire. The area is roughly a six mile stretch of Rogue River Drive.
Units are doing house visits today, meeting face to face with homeowners and inspecting properties. The declaration of the Conflagration Act made it possible for the State Fire Marshall’s Office to intervene and for resources as far as Portland and Springfield to be brought in.
After structural teams met with homeowners today, the State Fire Marshall’s is leaving due to everything being in good condition, and are leaving it to the local fire districts to handle structure protection.
