EUGENE, Ore. — Artwork by 13 local students have been chosen for the 2014 Recycle Art Calendar.

The nonprofit BRING produces the book together every year. The purpose of the calendar is to reflect of students’ understanding of the four Rs–recycle, reduce, reuse and re-think.

“The kids today, they are growing up with it being the norm, and so that just bodes really well for the future,” said Brett Jacobs, Community Education Manager.

“Recycling is good for the earth and cleaning it will love you back,” said fourth grader Bergen Walker.

“I was really thrilled to know I was chosen,” said seventh grader Miah Flack.

Ten-thousand copies of the calendar will be printed and passed out for free in November.

BRING is known for its green-inspired education programs and its effort to teach the Lane County community to live well without waste.
