The Safety Town camp teaches kids all about safety in their homes and outside.
Different activities help demonstrate skills like “stop, look and listen” and playing nice on the playground.
“Graduation day is so special, you see the kids just beaming with their excitement of everything they’ve learned and being able to show it to their parents at the ceremony,” said Sgt. Lisa Barrong, Eugene Police Department.
“We look both ways so we don’t get run over,” said student Mikyala Ledbetter.
Twenty-four teens volunteered their time as camp counselors throughout the two weeks. This was the biggest attendance organizers have seen.
