Students Plant Pinwheels for Peace

EUGENE, Ore. — Students at O’Hara Catholic School are promoting peace.

They planted 520 pinwheels in the school’s front yard. Each is handcrafted with a message inside.

It’s the sixth year the school has participated in Pinwheels for Peace.

“I think the world should always be peaceful because if there was no peace, it would be really hard to live in,” said fourth grader Claire Walters.

Last year, more than four million pinwheels were spinning in more than 3,500 locations worldwide.
